grinders
is it possible to reduce the amount of mobs, that spawners can spawn? im like playing in peaceful mode most of the time. ppl just leave their grinders running afk, and others can just wait for lucky moment, when grinder decides to kill them. I usually just log off. But since grinding is the easy way and popular, this suggestion is not going to get much support i guess.. ok have a nice day :)

grinders are retarded and people should have the common sense to clean theirs out every thirty minutes at least, it's not like the exp gained is exponential for number of mobs you kill.

I don't know of any way of doing that, but we could start just kicking people who are AFK and hogging the mob limit.

I just doubled the hostile mob limit (to 140), so let's see what that does.

The hostile mob limit is ridiculously low.
This is how my mob tower looks like with 2 players online. Once the player count hits 5 or higher, the grinder is empty. And those players don't even have to be grinding.
The solution imho is to increase the limit a bit, and be more aggressive about mob despawning (e.g. add a despawn timer to each new mob). If that's possible, ofc.

I was in the same exact boat as you, until I found a spawner. Long story short, just find a spawner. Much easier solution

Pretty much this. I built a mob grinder once that looked like a gigantic toilet, that flushed a steady stream of mobs to my killzone. In single player.bloodlucky wrote:I was in the same exact boat as you, until I found a spawner. Long story short, just find a spawner. Much easier solution
In multiplayer once there were more than a couple people online I'd be lucky to get a handful of mobs per minute. Not worth it.
Spawners are the way to go, but you will piss off the rest of the server if you don't kill stuff reasonably quickly.

yes the solution is simple if you your self make the style of grinder that you despise. I personally like getting free gunpowder and no spawner can deliver that. I have a mini zombie spawner grinder but i'll only use it if i really need xp and my 3 other grinders are nonproductive.
