/pvpsubscribe

Post by morl0ck »

Suggestion: add a command named /pvpsubscribe that will alert you whenever somebody does /world. Nobody wants to do /pvplist every 5 minutes to check who's in there. And people who don't care can do /pvpunsubscribe if they don't want to be spammed with the messages.

I think this command would destroy the whole purpose of secret trading. You wouldn't be able to make a trade without everyone on the server finding out.

It doesn't remove the effort. You still have to manage to find and kill them, and anyone who goes to the PVP world to trade without being prepared to defend themselves deserves to have their stuff taken. My suggestion isn't that much different from /pvplist except you don't have to spam it every 5 minutes just to see who is there.

I think it's a good idea, having to constantly /pvplist is annoying. And it's not supposed to be safe to trade in the pvp world, there's nothing wrong with adding a bit more danger, in fact it might make it all more lively.

or people will now just never use the pvp world because they know that there's at least 50% of the server's regulars ready to dunk them as soon as they hit enter

Or they will just use invisibility potions.

I thought you wanted people to use /world less because it was a "hugbox" or some shit like that?

What you describe is what it was like in the old days, when the server was actually fulfilling its purpose of being a place for PvP. Not such a bad thing.

Why is it always ad hominem attacks with you? If anyone disagrees with you, the only reasons are utter stupidity or self interest. The possibility that someone might have valid reasons for their position never seems to cross your mind. Probably because it's easier and more entertaining to come on for 5 minutes and try to piss someone off than it is to create a valid argument.

I don't really care if this suggestion passes or not, but I just wanted to say that shit like this is why I consider you a troll and not someone worth listening to.
