Good Afternoon Simps,
Over the last few years, the Internet slang term "ez" (short for "easy") has made its rounds on SimPvP, much like other pvp-centric Minecraft servers, primarily due to its usage as a "taunt" in pvp. For example: in a typical player versus player battle on SimPvP, two belligerents will engage each other in /world in an intense, often consensual fight. If one of these players' Totems of Undying are popped, the aggressor will proclaim "ez"; if one of these players dies, then the killer will proclaim "ez". What "ez" fundamentally refers to is a proclamation of triumph, a form of taunting used to belittle opponents in pvp matches. In a way, it undermines the confidence of the other player by pushing a sense of inferiority upon said player; when a player is "ez'd", as it is known, they are essentially dehumanized by the aggressor, and their pvp skills are ultimately called into question as a result.
However...some player misuse the term "ez", even after being defeated in battle, or at least partially or fully humiliated. For example, if a player's Totem of Undying is popped, and this player then proclaims "ez" upon the aggressor, he is misusing the term. There are also incidents in which a pvp match may be particularly difficult, tedious, time-consuming, or challenging; in these cases, usage of the term "ez" seems particularly unsound and misplaced. A player cannot proclaim "ez" in a difficult situation, as that is an oxymoron in itself: an "ez difficult situation".
Thus, I propose a new term: "hrd", slang for "hard" or difficult. There are many instances in which this term can be used: if you are in the midst of a battle, and your Totem of Undying is popped, or you suffer an immense defeat at the hands of your opponent, you can proclaim "hrd" in chat to signify the intense challenge that you had just engaged in, and your ultimate defeat. While proclaiming "ez" would be nonsensical in such a setting, "hrd" would be perfect to indicate that what you just experienced was, in fact, hard and not easy.
To the SimPvP admins, I propose a set of new rules and regulations: implement "hrd" as an alternative to "ez", and enforce its usage with the utmost sincerity. If a player uses "ez" in a "hrd" situation or setting, they should be jailed no more than 6 months minimum; if there is an excessive use of "ez" in a "hrd" situation or setting, they risk being banned permanently. I believe this will promote the usage of "hrd" in very difficult and challenging situations, and "ez" will decline as a result, being used in a more proper context. I believe that these regulations are adequate, although they are up to debate by the admins. The era of "ez" in difficult situations has come to an end, and "hrd" is only around the corner. It is not beneficial for SimPvP to be behind the times on this.
Thank you for your consideration,
