End spawn debate for good

Not sure if plug in is availible but i mentioned it and yukar suggested i make a suggestion as he belives a plug in could be made for a randomization of spawning. I'm thinking any where inside a 1 or 5Kish radius and of coarse beds would still work for a static respawn.
+No spawn camping
+No central wasteland (griefed, treeless, foodless)
+No spawn rats
+No spawn combat log
+Chance of starting right at some one's front door
+End of what to do with spawn topics

this would basically put the nail on the coffin for the concept of it being vanilla, but sure. the only issue is that now, being 5k from spawn is irrelevant.

Yeah, cause it's fun when someone repeatedly kills themselves until they get a spawn right over my base.

vanilla argument is invalid it's just a trade off one mod (spawn protection) for this one. and i doubt respawning as a form of exploration would be very efficient especialy if it's only a 1K radius in which you spawn

I still like the idea of having a "Spawn" Zone instead of making it incredibly easy for noobs to get things. I like the wasteland because it makes a challange.

not a challenge to you just the noobs. but with the fact that spawn currently has decidedly been declared not reenterable than there is no reason for a spawn at all. and issues of resorces could be adjusted by the spawning area. like if it was only a 500R area for spawning you'd still be in treeless space

Then add a plugin where new players start with a stack of wood and food. That would work just as well, no? See the point here? ANYTHING we would do is going to have a near valid argument going against it, and a near valid argument for it. No matter what happens, someone is going to not like it and leave, and chances are, that'll end up being a sad loss for the server. Unless it's someone that nobody likes... *cough cough* ;)

I prefer it when people don't become threats. We only declare it not re-enterable because people complain about others escaping for good reason to it because they insist on fighting within the glowstone border.

Personally, for the sake of the server I think we should go without this plugin because we are straying furthur from the name of the server, SIMPLICITY. i like this plugin and it sounds useful, but i think going back to revs redesign of spawn thread would be a better idea. it sounds interesting, but removes the purpose of a map limit.
