Minecraft, an outlet?

I'm wondering if you guys think minecraft serves as an outlet for people? Just in general. for me, I guess it's just a way of escaping the real world, not to trap myself from it but to give myself a break from it, especially when my parents are screaming shit at each other over the phone. I just lock myself in my room and load up minecraft and don't come out of my room for 3 hours, just to piss my parents off, lol
