Minecraft 1.2

So, minecraft 1.2 is out, as usual it'll take a couple days for main server to be updated, in the mean time I'll open up a temporary vanilla (meaning no admin support, no antihack (but hacking is still not allowed)) server.

When we do update minecraft to 1.2, the world files need to be updated, currently the main server world is 13GB, so I expect this to take a while. When we do update, expect 1-3 hours downtime for the conversion, but there will be a separate announcement for this.

I like that our server isn't so huge that it takes like a whole day to update.... just a few hours. Still, must be a lot of work to put in all those mods into the server..

Couldn't you just take a save file and update it to 1.2 and keep the server up?

The server is up, just running 1.1. The other server is running 1.2.

waron, when I do the update there will be a temporary server, but the main server can't be running at the same time I'm converting the format.
