I don't think that'd happen- I tested it recently on my server. I went on gamemode 0 and dropped one egg for me to pickup on the other gamemode (normal, not creative) and it just spawned one egg.

in creativ mode all items are infinite. in survival eggs are one time use

If they are one use, let people have a few. Imagine your opponents surprise if you sprung a ghast out in the middle of hunger games or cts :P
