Exactly, Gtranslate is cool for translating alone words, but it gives crappy result while translating larger things ( especially in french )

I find it useful, its results are far from natural sounding, but you can usually make out the meaning of its translations. If I want individual words, I'd use wiktionary/wikipedia.
