I like this idea, but I feel like there could be unforeseen effects. At the very least I think the 1k y limit would be fun, allowing for more biome options like sky islands or huge mountain ranged like morlock's pic,

and increasing the shadow taper effect so builds high up wont leave an ugly shadow below unless they are massive.
