Metropolis was a base founded after the evacuation of TSCOT's 2nd base, Quartz Base, and was the main base of TSCOT. Metropolis stood for roughly a year and four months, surviving its initial accidental coordinates compromise, abandonment and portal xray, until eventually ending its time on the server anticlimactically with a coordinates leak. Whilst the original Metropolis location has been griefed, and was long dead before that, its "descendants"; Metropolis 2 and Metropolis 3, still stand.
