History

Luxembourg Castle is a castle within the greater spawn region of simpvp. It is known for being cozy, nostalgic and having an overall sense of peace when within the great walls. It was founded on December 1st, 2021 by 4Pilot whose intentions were to build a castle inspired by a castle he saw on a different server called Novelyn that was built when Minecraft was still in beta. 4Pilot started on building one wall, scaling it up compared to the one he was basing it after. He worked on the castle walls for a few days until he quickly lost interest. The singular wall, and the outline of the castle stood stagnant for a little under 2 years. During November of 2023, 4Pilot decided to revamp the project. Here he corrected the shape of the castle and built up the walls, he added hallways, a courtyard filled with oak trees, dandelions and roses. The castle is 3 stories, with the towers going up 5 stories to the top. There is 12 main towers, 4 of which have a spiral staircase that connect the various levels, topping the towers are 12 Luxembourg flags. On the walls there is 4 Luxembourg flags that lay vertical, the windows are the shape of a cross, the crucifixion. The idea for the windows to be crosses came from the castle that gave 4Pilot inspiration. Though, fittingly, they make perfect sense in combination with the Luxembourg flags, as Luxembourg is known for their deep faith in the Catholic faith. When 4Pilot revamped the project, Christmas was near, this, along with it being in a snow biome, gave him the idea to build a Christmas tree. He invited Laztec to help in the construction of the 56 block tall tree.

Naming the castle

When the castle was nearing completion 4Pilot wanted to line the castle with flags, he played with various country's flags, one of them being Germany. Though eventually he settled on the idea for Luxembourg. 4Pilot with a love for the country, a rich ancestral connection to the country itself thought it was the most fitting. The flags lining the castle are enough evidence to why it became named the "Luxembourg Castle"

Details

4Pilot who loves building like it is still 2011, made this castle of a very simple pallet, cobblestone, stairs, glass blocks and torches. Because of this pallet you could probably trick anyone into thinking it was built 10 years ago.

The castle consists of over 5000 torches and about 80000 cobblestone blocks, donated by iLxgend
