Moving this down here since it's a debate whether this should be included at all. Yukarion's view was a strict interpretation would say a base being taken out by ban evaders would not be restored, but also seemed open to changing his mind about it if a compelling argument or means tested method of enforcing it was developed. Perhaps time based? Or maybe it depends on what the ban evaders were banned for? This is probably the grayest area where you could argue that a base was illegally destroyed if the person who did so shouldn't have been able to do it.

If ban evasion is only included as an illegal method if the person doing so was proven to have been involved in similar illegal activities to x-raying and duping, perhaps then it would work?

ℹ️ This page is a proposal, the text on it does not currently apply to the server.

This page is intended to server as the basis for creating a new server policy in which bases that were destroyed or severely damaged through illegal means can be restored by the admins.

If a base is destroyed by a player who used an x-ray texture pack to locate it and/or used illegally obtained materials or client-side hacks to destroy it, the base can be restored to its original state if requested by the builders. If the base's original builders are no longer active, restoration is left up to admin discretion.

Conditions

For restoration to be considered one of three things must be provable by the builders and admins.

X-ray used to locate the base.

Duped materials used, such as TNT or Wither Skulls.

Limitations

While this policy is able to restore the builds themselves at a base, NPCs and storage chests cannot be restored. While this might make the policy seem pointless if the fundamentals of a base cannot be restored, the main goal is to offer some protection to the hundreds, or possibly thousands of combined man hours that go into bases, as well as deny hackers a place in server history.

Ban Evasion?
