Introduction

On SimPvP there is a rich culture in not only Map Art, but also books. The SimPvP Digital Library is an idea created by DKC in which he uses a book copying mod to allow for the notepad translation of any books on SimPvP. This project was followed when DKC was using a book writing mod, allowed at the time, to create his own library of Edgar Allan Poe's works on SimPvP, but when informed by Korijenkins that he could not use the mod to create books, he decided to use it to document them.

Information

Writing books is a fine art that should be kept alive by the community. If you have question about digitizing books ask DKC, if you would like to submit a book make sure it is a copy of copy, so that we can assure you that your book can not be copied by anyone else. There are also many different types of books. For simplicity we will refer to them as Illegal and Legal.

(Please bring back book mods, I've digitized too many classics to have them be a waste)

The Current State of Book Modding

After book mods were made illegal, it was only obvious the literacy rates on SimPvP would suffer harshly, but no longer will we have to worry about our own mental fortitudes while fighting off boredom on our favorite server. I have recently (Aug 3, 2023) discovered a new way to make the lives of fellow literary scholars filled with a lot less carpal tunnel, the online book mod. Although not as fast as the original counterpart, it is just as effective at growing minds and feeding our eyes.

Illegal Books

Illegal books refer to books that use illegal in game characters or modifications of your computer and or game to produce. These books do not transfer well into a digital copy because of the characters used. They are commonly a jumble of characters or are replaced with character such as "§". Illegal game modifications can also cause you to create a book with more than the vanilla allowed pages.

Legal Books

These are the most common books to be found on SimPvP. These books are simple with standard text written in them, but they are no less cool than their illegal counterparts. Very interesting parts of SimPvP's history can be seen through these types of books.

The Digital Library

After being informed of mediafire's policies, the SimPvP Digital Library Collections will have to be sent via Discord. You can reach me on Discord or via my email.
