By blocking specific locations with blocks, the Ender Dragon will no longer be able to pathfind, this results in a frozen dragon. When the dragon is frozen, you can push it outside the main End island with a flying machine. ===Headless Piston=== | ===Headless Piston===
 | |||
* Info: An extended piston base with no piston head in front of it can be created by a wide variety of methods, usually a form of explosion is being used to create it.
When a piston extends the block 36 (moving piston block, post 1.12) needs to be destroyed before the extension is over. Block 36 does not have a hitbox, so it cannot be mined. It can be blown up, that's why end crystals are a popular for creating these. Headless pistons can be exploited since normal pistons will delete any block that is in front of them, even bedrock. Headless pistons bedrock removal is the most common and simple method. Not only are they useful, but they are also an interesting way to decorate builds. Headless pistons can keep their state as long as they are kept powered or BUD powered.
* Owner(s) / location(s): oakmarten's End Ship has some headless pistons as decoration. |

”A feature of Minecraft, whether a bug or an intentional feature, that could be acquired in specific versions of the game, and the ability to acquire said feature was, at some point, removed”
~the Minecraft Discontinued Features Wiki
This page is all about things that are now no longer obtainable, (e.g. petrified oak slabs) or rare (blank maps for example). Some features have also been removed throughout the numerous updates, such as invalid data value leaves (usually known as "alpha leaves"). Relicts of admin abuse do not belong in the page!
Please use the following format for each feature

In version 1.13, the numeric ID's were removed, and the wooden slab got its own name: "Petrified Oak Slab". Skeleton horse with 15+ HP
- Version range: 1.9 - 1.10.2
- Info: Skeleton horse traps spawned in these versions will create one skeleton horse that will always have 53 HP and three other ones that will have a random value ranging from 15 to 30 HP.
Fun fact: skeleton traps that spawned during this version range will spawn the discontinued skeleton horses when triggered in modern versions, that's how oakmarten found his high health skeleton horses.

Blocks
Snowy Grass Block
AKA the thermal paste block.
- Version range: ? - 1.17.1
- Info: A snowy grass block without the snow layer, leaving behind the base texture of the top part of a grass block.
This bug could occur by either an Enderman picking up a grass block that had snow on it and placing it back down, (possible until 1.16) or by world generation (similar to floating vegetation) (possible until 1.17). Although, this block state is rather stable, (placing or breaking blocks does not cause any updates) snowfall will update the block, and a snow layer will form on it. All it takes to prevent this is to place a block 2 blocks above the grass block (as shown in the screenshot).

Moving Piston / Block 36
- Version range: Beta 1.7 - 1.16.5
- Info: Moving piston blocks were able to be made when blowing up the block entity of an extending piston in the same tick that the piston extends. This was possible by blowing up a brewing stand with an end crystal, and extending a piston at the right time.
This newly created block, that normally is meant to only exist for a very short period, has some interesting properties:
- Gravity blocks will fall through it when they are falling. They will stay as a falling entity when there is a block underneath it that normally breaks falling blocks, like a fence for example.
- Gravity blocks can sit on top of it when they are directly placed on it.
- Fluids don't go through a moving piston block, nor can blocks be places in it.
- Block 36 can support item frames.
- Moving piston blocks can still be made by using the world border, the block itself can be found outside and a server sided hitbox is projected on the inside of the border (image needed).
- Owner(s) / location(s): Barrier Town featured some of these blocks.

Blank Map
- Info:
Blank maps are maps that show no terrain, when placed on item frames they will become transparent and make the item frame larger. There are two types of blank maps: ones that have NBT data and ones that don't, they can be distinguished from each other by either enabling advanced tooltips or by some small visual differences when held.

Zero durability item
- Info: The following pieces of equipment can still be obtained, although some might be more rare than others (golden sword vs. trident). Some are almost impossible to get due to small chances of a mob dropping it (e.g. diamond armor).
- Armor - any except netherite & turtle shell from skeleton, zombies, husks, strays, piglins
- Bow - drop from skeletons starting in 12w32a (1.4 snapshot) or strays starting in 16w20a (1.10 snapshot)

0 durability equipment acts like it has 1 durability since it also has still one use before breaking (repairing by combining it gives a different result. It can also be enchanted and used in an anvil. Diamond armor could be upgraded to make it even more valuable.

Tall Grass / Large Fern (item)

Deepslate Emerald Ore
- Info:
The Deepslate version of Emerald Ore is rare to find. You can only mine it with Silk Touch. It can only spawn very rarely on levels where Emerald Ore is found (above y = -16, and in mountain biomes) and below where you can find Deepslate (Below y = 0).

entity.MinecartRidable.name
- Version range: 1.9 -1.10.2
- Info: (WIP: Needs some testing since the aditional NBT tag can also be the same as the one that you get when renaming a minecart in an anvil)
Due to a bug [1], breaking a minecart (also the other minecart types) in these version will drop an item with its name removed and instead it is given the technical game file name. Full list of types that were once obtainable:
- entity.MinecartRideable.name
- entity.MinecartFurnace.name
- entity.MinecartTNT.name
- Minecart with Chest
- Minecart with Hopper
However with this bug [2] being patched in vanilla and on paper, these minecarts are no longer rare. Nowadays you can make the exact same item by renaming a normal minecart in an anvil.

Mobs
NoAI Ender Dragon
- Info:
By blocking specific locations with blocks, the Ender Dragon will no longer be able to pathfind, this results in a frozen dragon. When the dragon is frozen, you can push it outside the main End island with a flying machine. When there is no Ender Dragon at End spawn, and the dragon battle hasn't finished, the server will spawn a brand-new dragon, which will freeze as well. This allows multiple dragons in one world at the same time.
A video that ostrich1414 made about the broken dragons event: https://youtu.be/Itqe5GtNs5g?feature=shared
Oakmarten would later also try to clear lava casts with a dragon, and get more than the initial two dragons. He succeeded in getting three dragons in one place.
Attempting to use the dragon to clear parts of the lava casts around End spawn.
Dragons were successfully moved outside the main End island.
- Owner(s) / location(s): This is a temporary bug unless the dragon is stored in an unloaded chunk and never gets loaded again.

Indestructible end crystal
(WIP)
- Info: When the Ender dragon is being resummoned, the "Invulnerable" tag is set to 1b. When the crystal is pushed far enough away from the pillar, it stays invulnerable. These crystals have a different appearance than normal End crystals, they have a bedrock base, and emit a light that points towards End spawn (X0, Y125, Z0). These crystals can be pushed far away from the main End island, and can be used for decoration.
Oakmarten had used one to make a flying End Ship, that "uses" (larp!) the crystal as a power source for the ship to fly.

Blocks
Headless Piston
- Info: An extended piston base with no piston head in front of it can be created by a wide variety of methods, usually a form of explosion is being used to create it.
