Dirt City is a small community built during June 2020 in /world, where everyone was free to contribute. Originally, the architecture consisted of dirt, but soon allowed the use of mycelium and grass, and later basically anything. TNT was initially used in place of glass for windows, though this idea was scrapped for unknown reasons. The city grew to a respectable size but predictably sustained devastating damage due to its location in the pvp world.

History

Humble Beginnings

Dirt City's earliest structures were built by Lord1, Tenced, and Burger_Malone, among others. These included various small dirt houses and the obsidian bunker, which would be used in case of attack.

Rapid Expansion

As more players joined, the city grew quickly. A coal ore McDonalds was built, along with an air raid siren made with noteblocks. Lord1 sold custom-built dirt condos, and a fight club (later strip club) was formed.

Eventual Downfall

After a surprisingly long time, the inevitable happened, and Dirt City was destroyed and ransacked of its many riches.

Economy

Technology

Despite its unassuming exterior, Dirt City was a technological powerhouse. As it expanded, a sugarcane 6G tower was erected, while a beacon was placed in the city centre. The city was even home to impressive modern art, and adopted an official flag.

Currency

Crack_me_open introduced Dirt Coin as an easy way to sell goods at his Dirt Shop. This formed the backbone of the Dirt City economy, though it was soon flooded by convincing coarse dirt counterfeits, which took over as the preferred currency. These new coins were too, however, superseded by decreasingly convincing counterfeits, destabilising the once strong dirt-based economy.
