Secret Santa
SimPvP Secret Santa is an in-game holiday event started by clipchip in December 2017 that has continued as a server tradition since then. Every year, many players join the Secret Santa and donate unique, rare items for the event; on and around Christmas Day, the gifts are randomly exchanged to the participating players, thus ensuring that each player will get something new, different, and completely anonymous.
History
On December 14th, 2017, clipchip posted a new thread on the SimPvP forum entitled "SimPvP Secret Santa 2017 (clipchip is admin edition)" [1] which detailed the main idea and rules of the Secret Santa event. This was the first organized iteration of the game on SimPvP, and its uniqueness attracted many players, resulting in the first Secret Santa being a success.
The next year, clipchip began earlier, on December 3rd, 2018, announcing the second annual Secret Santa [2]; it once again attracted many players, and thus the Secret Santa event became a holiday staple for the server, which plans to do it every succeeding year onward.
Rules
The rules of the Secret Santa event are the following:
- The player must either inform clipchip in-game or on the server forum that he/she wants to participate
- Players must sign up BEFORE Christmas Eve, or else they will be ineligible to participate
- The item submitted by the participants must be worth equal to or more than two diamond blocks (multiple item submissions are allowed)
