Origin Story and First Base
Rainyday203 (Often simply called "Rainy","Raini" or "Rain" by most players on the server.) Joined the server on 23rd February 2019 after hearing about the server from a friend. Upon Joining they initially Planned to live alone as a Nomand, They did so for several Days in a small underground base in a Savannah Biome surrounded by an pre-1.13 Ocean and a large amount of chunk errors. Unsure of who to trust they appeared somewhat untrustworthy at first, but was often seen talking in chat greeting users and asking several questions about the server, after which they where given a link to the wiki by CreaPat and began to have an intense interest in the History and Landmarks of the Server. The unnamed and unfinished base primarily used Andersite, Cobblestone and Stone Brick Blocks and consisted of a 20x20 circular underground area that was never fully finished hidden under grass and a small Lake. The base sat somewhere close to Z:65000 and Y:63.00. The X axis is currently Unknown, as such the base still remains relativity undamaged, Hidden as a relic of Rainys' early days on the server.
The downfall of an Unnamed and Abandoned Base
"Ahh NOOOO". Where the first words typed by Rainy into chat upon their second day on the server. After being questioned over what had occured it was revealed shortly after moving into this base an unfortunate series of events transpired leading to a death in which Rainys' Bed was destroyed by a creeper due to the low light level of the base. Rainy eventually decided to build a new base above ground, after being unable to reloacte their previous Home. Rainy Vowed to Rebuild however this Never happened due to an unexpected series of events...
The Fellowship and New Hope
As Rainy travelled south away from spawn, they where messaged by TheOnlySlash who eventually persuaded them to join their Base and live there instead. Rainy agreed, deciding that basing with the Newly made friend was a good idea, allowing them to gain both a steady stable food supply, allies and new opportunities to build and leave a greater impact upon the server. This base later became known as Semper Idem and Rainy Played a key part in it's construction as a permanent resident. Rainy Travelled to Semper Idem utilising Several Nether Subways at y120, just below the Nethers' ceiling initially dying on the journey Rainy helped make the tunnels safer by constructing several hidden passages and small farms along the way with beds to provide a safe and nearby spawn point. Hoping both hardened veterans and particularly Newer players could utilise these safe spots to replenish hearts, obtain food (including Melons, Wheat Potatos) and set a spawn point, leaving several signs making reference to a "Spot of Refuge for Weary travels" urging players to "Please take what you need". An ungrified example of this is what rainy nicknamed "The 8k Farm". A farm located at Roughly z:8000 on the Nether Highway in the overworld. with a small bed and farm nearby, the farm is in a plains biome, Later on Rainy would return to this spot, lighting it up and planting trees often. Hoping to supply players with wood, apples and a safe spot to rest. Later efforts included the surrounding of the farm in Netherrack, however this was never finished and the remnants of this are mainly limited to the portal and the front of the farm.
Arrival at Semper Idem
arriving on 3rd February 2019 after using The Nether subway. Rainy decided to join The Fellowship and became an official member, pledging to help out on the many Nether Tunnels and maintain Peace on the server, which are some of the main aims of the group. The groups general policy of neutrality unless the server or a large amount of its history was under threat suit Rainys' general passive nature fit the group well. And as such Rainy felt right at home, quickly rising through the ranks and forging a deep friendship with TheOnlySlash.
Totem Tower
Later on February 4th 2019 Rainy started to construct a large circular tower made from Oak Logs, Oak Planks, Blue wool,and White wool at Semper Idem they later decided to call the tower Totem Tower, which was a reference to the unusual amount of rain that poured down during its construction, seemingly channelling rain onto to the city of Semper Idem, this gave Rainy the idea to fashion the Totem Tower to follow an aquatic theme(emphasised by the underfloor aquarium and pillar of water surrounded by glass extending to the Totem Towers' top directly through the middle of the base. As a reminder of both the torrential rain and Aquatic surroundings the Island was birthed from.)
Concerns over Spawn, New Players and Future Plans
Rainy is generally viewed as friendly and warm by most players on the server. They're often active in chat, however refrains from debates and has expressed wishes for Players to work together and work meaningfully on building and protecting the servers long History, respecting the deep history of the server Immensely and wishing to keep it this way, Rainy is known to have a distaste for griefers however will not directly intervene or prevent such actions. Rainy is often known for greeting all Players online upon joining the game, somtimes in a similar manner to Creapat. Rainy is primarily a builder, and as such is rather peaceful. preferring to avoid conflict if possible. Since Joining Rainy has only slain 3 players, as a direct result of an unprovoked attack while travelling along the Nether Subway.
New Players and Low TPS
Due to a direct concern over the Low TPS and influx of new players potentially griefing many of the servers monuments and landmarks that has occurred on the server from the beginning of 2019 Rainy has expressed support several times for a proposed griefing of the land around spawn, griefing of small Overworld based farms (Mainly Melon farms) and to break much of spawn itself. Rainy has supported and directly engaged in helping several large Lava casts, particularly directly south from Spawn on the South Highway. Rainy has also been spotted destroying several Nether Portals or trapping several on the North Highway to further this goal, However while Rainy has a disliking towards New players many think that Rainy is simply concerned with TPS and would prefer to stop Low skilled Players breaking free from spawn, to hopefully stop further reductions in the low TPS. Some have seen Rainys' Nether Highway Farms as a contradiction to this effort however Rainy has justified this by saying he wishes to help Skilled players and is simply concerned over the Low TPS, rather than having hostility towards New Players.
