Yanardagh Temple is a spawn temple repurposed from a lavacast, founded by ostrich1414 on January 9th, 2023. Created as a place of worship for The Order of Wilbur, Yanardagh Temple would become the first Wilburian spawn project of 2023 and included the assistance of OOW members and allies alike. The temple was formed after ostrich1414 spent two days creating a lavacast in an empty swamp biome, then mining off the top pyramid and flattening out the base, where a massive temple was constructed. Upon its completion, a large celebration was hosted by the OOW.

History

Although the Order of Wilbur had both funded and completed dozens of spawn projects throughout 2022, including the construction of smaller-scale temples at some of these projects, it had not built a large-scale spawn temple since 2020. 2020 saw the construction of two massive OOW spawn temples, the Grand Sanctuary and Suidae Temple, but the OOW had since stuck to working on spawn bases that house smaller temples within them. This would change on January 9th, 2023 when ostrich1414 decided to begin work on a new spawn temple, a first for the OOW in over two years and also the first public OOW project of the year. The difference this time, however, was that ostrich1414 would start by creating a massive lavacast. After choosing a barren swamp biome on the outskirts of spawn, ostrich1414 would spend nearly two days forming a lavacast, repeatedly switching between lava buckets and water buckets to grow the lavacast. By January 10th, ostrich1414 had created a monolithic lavacast that covered the entire swamp biome and extended into the nearby mountains and desert.

Once the lavacast was completed, the second phase of the project was to cut off the top pyramid and flatten it down to the top of the base. This was done in order to establish a large, flat foundation for the temple to stand on. After making his project public within the Order of Wilbur Discord server, ostrich1414 would receive help from close allies sav5 and oakmarten, as well as Wilburian WatermelonFun11, with the four spending hours mining down the top part of the lavacast. Eventually, they had mined down to the top of the lavacast's base, where ostrich1414 then began constructing the temple's pillars on all four corners of the foundation.

After constructing the four pillars of the temple, ostrich414 then received help from both sav5 and fellow Wilburian MoWobbler as he worked on the roof. The roof was made of smooth stone blocks, forming a large pyramid shape that extended upwards. After this, both ostrich1414 and MoWobbler constructed four gables on each side of the roof, giving the temple more depth and texture. Atop the roof, newcomers like dacegod863 and HijaxV2 would place torches all over to light it up, while ostrich1414 put the finishing touches on the gables. By January 11th, the temple was officially completed--at least, the top part was.

That same day, the OOW would host a small celebratory party at the temple, with several OOW members and allies showing up. The temple would be officially named "Yanardagh Temple" by dacegod863, with "Yanardagh" being Azerbaijani for "fire mountain" (a reference to the lavacast origins of the temple). Down below, the remaining crew, now including ElectricChugg, willowienal, and MoonGoat47, would finish off the temple by replacing the empty air blocks on the cobblestone floor with chiseled stone bricks. Finally, after adding some OOW banners to top it all off, Yanardagh Temple was officially complete.
