On August 27th, 2021, MoWobbler decided to host events for the first time in a long time. After just four events he had to leave and opened Capture the Flag on the way out. With heavily imbalanced teams and a high likelihood of little to no fun, all involved in the event ceased hostilities and began working on building a small, doomed, town.
History
It Will Go began its relatively short but storied existence immediately after MoWobbler departed. Due to Korijenkins' habit of building houses in CTF rather than fighting and playing the event, others actually joined him in his efforts. Before long the void separating the red and blue teams was completely covered with oak planks. Whilst the Blue team made their mansion, the outnumbered red team, primarily 159, worked on a single home. Within 10 minutes the first floor of the mansion had been finished and a second floor began to be constructed.
The denizens of It Will Go were forced to come up with creative means of decorating due to the limited block pool from which they could operate. Whilst they initially only had Oak logs to work with, SenorJeb discovered there were stone quarries beneath the grass that could be mined for cobblestone and also discovered a method of obtaining additional iron, which quickly became the most valuable resource at the base. Cobblestone allowed for the construction of furnaces, leading to torches and light for the town.
After about an hour, players began attempting to escape CTF, and succeeded by creating a boat bridge across a gap. Around this time Yukarion also returned and began giving the residents of the fledgling base offerings from which they could expand their civilization. First it was a mere gold block that was gifted, but soon there was a sapling to grow trees, seeds to grow wheat, and water. the seed was worshiped by members as it was all powerful until they forgot and quickly moved on. All was peaceful until Gsmack returned, driven mad by exposure to the events map, something only server admins have the power to withstand. He proceeded to slaughter the residents of the base unabated until Yukarion banished him from the town.
Not long after, Kori disconnected and the town began to fall into inactivity. Players began leaving on their own and it seemed the base would be doomed. Against all odds, Kori managed to get back onto the map one last time to make a schematic of the base before blue team, outnumbering red team 2 to 1, made a push to end the game and achieved victory. Almost immediately after, It Will Go was erased as the event came to a conclusion, fulfilling its namesake.
