Vulpes Den was an underground base founded by cmlove and ostrich1414 on December 21st, 2019. Vulpes Den was based off of cmlove's previous base, The Foxhole, which was similar in style and theme: an underground, nature-inspired complex of rooms and halls designed to look like a fox's burrow. Vulpes Den had a central room with a network of several other rooms, hallways, farms and nooks built off of it by its members, with the goal of maintaining a natural look and aesthetic, favoring lots of flora and fauna, grass and other vegetation.
Unfortunately, due to increased inactivity among its playerbase and a general lack of enthusiasm and motivation for the project, Vulpes Den was promptly abandoned by spring 2020. It was later griefed by Antzakes1 in late 2020, and the coordinates were leaked by Gem_Productions in November 2020.
History
Early Beginnings
After cmlove's near-Spawn base, The Foxhole, was griefed on December 19th, 2019, she was adamant on starting a new, similar base. After investing much time into her underground fox sanctuary, she recruited frequent Foxhole-affiliate ostrich1414 to help establish a new base to work at. The two wanted to work on another underground base, which would be similar in style and theme to the Foxhole, but different in execution and scope. Essentially, this new base would be much larger and more grand.
After finding a new location, they began to work by clearing out a large area underground in preparation, officially founding the base on December 21st, 2019. Later that day, they invited their two other allies and ex-Foxhole affiliates, cheesy_chips22 and Lord1. They eventually decided on the name "Vulpes Den", a reference to the scientific name of the fox and to the dens they live in, as well as being an homage to the Foxhole. Soon after, the first, central room was completed, looking like a small enchanted forest hidden underground.
