Void City is a futuristic base on the server; a collaborative effort undertaken by 16 players with different backgrounds and different specialties. The current member base comprises mainly of players from North Koria (Clan) and The Conspiracy, though there are a few members who aren't part of either.
History of Void City
2020
Void City's official birth is marked as October 3, 2020 when the location that would become the base was first reached by Korijenkins. A portal link was set up, connecting the base to a supply area, and gradually supplies were migrated to the location over the next few weeks. Construction of the base officially began on October 30th, when the first building in the residential district was started, along with the end gateway and the first iteration of the city's roads.
clipchip also began building his first of two massive 2D girls, making these the first two builds at the base, aside from the gateway. After these were finished, Korijenkins began work on the Pippenger National History Museum, a project which remains in progress due to the enormity of the scope as well as his own laziness.
For most of 2020 progress was very slow, as few members were inspired to do much building.
2021
While the initial member count only included clipchip, ostrich1414, TheOnlySlash, and Korijenkins, it soon grew to include dariepearjuicy, JavelinFury, MisterStrawman, and cmlove.
The addition of these new members prompted the beginning of the embassy island. As the base was intended to be wholly neutral and uninvolved in Sim politics, it made sense to have the groups represented build embassies rather than claim the base for themselves. North Koria's embassy was finished first, followed by The Conspiracy's, before the embassy island sat quiet for nearly 6 months. The third embassy wasn't added until September of 2021, when DakkaDok joined the base as a representative of Nos Aeterna.
Building soon slowed to a crawl, as nearly all of The Conspiracy members at the base became inactive, HedgehogMind and TheOnlySlash became inactive, and ostrich1414 lost motivation to build due to the stresses of being an admin. This essentially left Korijenkins and clipchip as the only active members contributing to the base, and soon even clipchip refused to play Sim in protest of the AntHand situation during the Imperial War. Thus, Korijenkins spent several months expanding the base on his own until even he grew burned out from building.
As a result, building progress stalled completely, with nearly nothing being added to the base aside from the expansion of the ghetto and road network. By mid 2021 though, it began to pick up once more, with clipchip beginning to return, ostrich1414 quitting his role as admin, and TheOnlySlash growing tired of playing on other anarchy servers and returning to Sim in a greater capacity.
In 2021 the Pippenger National History Museum reached a point where it was considered completed enough to be added to the events map as an event, which had always been the intended purpose of it. After much inactivity in developing the base's farms, Kori finally built a cactus farm, resulting in him becoming a server admin. Not long after a gunpowder and tree farm followed, the latter of which was build by clipchip.
2022
Throughout 2022 the base experienced significant growth. With the End World Border Expedition finished, the participating members returned to building at the base. Within a few months, several islands had been flattened and dariepearjuicy had constructed an enormous island out of end stone to the west of the base for use in constructing a neighboring base. The flattened islands were covered in stone slabs to eliminate endermen spawns on the island, and multiple builds followed in the immediate aftermath, with the map dramatically changing over the next few months.
Progress slowed during Korijenkins' irl move out of the state of Massachusetts, but when he returned progress was undertaken on replacing ostrich1414's shitty storage tower. Additionally several major farms the base simply never had due to laziness were built. DakkaDok departed the base after many months to focus on his new base, Nova Aeterna. Weeks later, Laztec and Nebuelaz joined the base as the likely final members to ever be recruited into the base.
In October the base turned 2 years old, though no one realized it until the end of the month, and the members celebrated with a fireworks show at the museum. The storage building that was made earlier in the year was replaced with an even larger building and the old cobblestone farm was restarted in favor of the wither-based one that had been disabled for months due to TNT duping's removal. After a few weeks of working on Void City, Nebuelaz followed in the footsteps of DakkaDok and began working on his own base, Arcadia.
Despite its intended status as a politically neutral base, Void City's existence was the subject of a crisis when f8tal of the Church of Francis attempted to force the coordinates out of Laztec by threatening to destroy, and later destroying, The Bridge. At the same time, TheOnlySlash had abandoned Void City in favor of once again attacking members of the Church of Francis and destroying their bases. These actions were enough to drive MoWobbler out of the base in protest, but this protest did little to quell TheOnlySlash's rampage.
