The Sim PvP museum is the largest collection of Sim PvP history artifacts on the server. Existing entirely on the events map, the museum consists of hundreds of artifacts from various bases over the course of the server's decade long existence.

History

Early Attempts

Attempts to create an official server museum were first attempted during the admin tenure of Pippenger. Pippenger's efforts were largely focused around copying large ungriefed or partially griefed bases in their entirety from the survival overworld map to the Events World. Thanks to his efforts, many large and small bases were preserved in their original ungriefed condition, including notable bases such as Uinia, Stonetown, Ascaris, Castle Snowfrog and many more. Although these builds were preserved on the Events map, they were not accessible by the public and existed for his personal amusement and admiration more than anything else. Ultimately, this first attempt at compiling noteworthy builds for a museum would come to an end with Pippenger resigned as admin.

Community-Built Museums

After 2016, there were few attempts at building a server museum by the Sim PvP admin team. Despite that, community members frequently created their own small scale museums to hold artifacts and items of value. Players such as LordPastaYT and Bilot had large map collections, while others like SaluutSFR collected banners. Others like DKC had an interest in collecting books. Rare items, such as silk touch shears, petrified oak slabs and Mending/Infinity God Bows were also valued by the community, and collecting rare or unobtainable items was something many did, but few displayed publicly. When ostrich1414 arrived at Belgium in 2020, he proposed a large scale museum project within the base itself due to its security. The owner of the base, Korijenkins agreed with the idea, but no progress was ever made on the Belgium museum, which died when the base was abandoned for Void City.

This, however, did not deter Korijenkins, who would construct the Pippenger National History Museum at Void City not long after starting the base. Named after Pippenger due to his long running ties to Sim PvP history, the museum was the first of its kind, storing a collection of both artifacts and actual builds that were physically removed and relocated from their original bases. The practice was controversial, with player AntHand claiming that removing builds from bases was as good as griefing them. Korijenkins argued on the contrary, that him relocating builds to his museum at Void City was preserving the existence of Sim PvP history.
