The youngest SimPvP generation both in terms of join date, and also, often, in terms of actual real-life birth date. Many of these new players are highly active in server politics and war. Most joined through a friend or one of Porkington's server ads. It remains to be seen how many will make lasting contributions to SimPvP and its history, but some members (such as those listed) have proven to do so, starting new groups and becoming a part of Simpvp history. However, not all gen 5 players have done so. Many consider this to be an especially bad generation who have "ruined the server" by coming, but the same thing was once said about every new generation.

Generation 1: 2011-2012

The very first generation to play on SimPvP, when the server was young, and when Minecraft itself was still a new game. This generation experienced the most chaotic era of SimPvP history, including the first and only map reset, the world border being implemented, and the highest frequency of griefing and PvP. As a result, these players tend to have thick skin and aren't surprised or upset easily. Most members of this generation occupy a respected place in the server culture, having established some of the most historic bases, and serving as admins at a much higher rate than any other generation.

In general, this generation is disrespectful to newer players, holding an arrogant attitude and often being quite rude on the old SimPvP forum, which existed since before the server had its own Discord or subreddit, though there are major exceptions to this rule such as Snowfrog43, who has sheltered and fed more noobs than anyone else.

Notable Members: Yukarion, MisterStrawman, JezdziecBezNicka, Melvin3000 AKA clipchip, DakkaDok, morl0ck, RevStoningpot, mitte90, DeflowVesper, M_Brix, LittleBoxOfEmo, Infam0us, IMMERONE, Fluz42, Snowfrog43, worldruler086, FoSchnizzle, LoneSoldier55, STYX1337

Generation 2: 2013-2014

This generation was the first wave of new players to come to SimPvP after it was first established, and did not always get along well with the old players from generation I, though many members eventually earned the respect of the server by founding or joining major bases such as Ascaris, Golden Sun, or Morl0ck's Castle, among many others. Generation II, in general, has a more welcoming attitude towards noobs, because they remember when they were regarded as noobs themselves.

Notable Members: JavelinFury, Ostrich1414, LetsGetTr0pical, OdinFire, antzakes1, Pippenger, LegendaryArtz, CrackyJoe, Ultra_Badass, Gnatogryz, Brntrogdor, Cinnabars, Skaterhan1, SpenPen, CreaPat, Quint

Generation 3: 2015-2016

SimPvP's lost generation. Starting in mid-2014, SimPvP suffered an enormous drop in the rate of new players, meaning that most people in this generation never played much on SimPvP, or perhaps never played much Minecraft at all. Quite a large percentage of "new" players who joined during this time were actually secret alts of older players, which further increased the distrust towards genuine new players, making it harder for them to integrate into the server.

Notable Members: SirTashingdon, NeutralistNoodle

Generation 4: 2017-2018

The second major influx of new players. Many of these people were attracted to SimPvP's history, which had by this point grown quite long. Unlike the original players, who simply found a fresh new server to have fun on, members of this generation more often sought out an old server with a rich history. However, as always, many new players were just excited to play on a server where griefing was allowed, meaning that there was a significant rise in chaos on SimPvP at the same time.

Notable Members: Sengorn_Leopard, SassSFR, Azdin, Sellout9, Nagol101, TheOnlySlash, The Arma

Generation 5: 2019-2020

The youngest SimPvP generation both in terms of join date, and also, often, in terms of actual real-life birth date. Many of these new players are highly active in server politics and war. Most joined through a friend or one of Porkington's server ads. It remains to be seen how many will make lasting contributions to SimPvP and its history, but some members (such as those listed) have proven to do so, starting new groups and becoming a part of Simpvp history. However, not all gen 5 players have done so. Many consider this to be an especially bad generation who have "ruined the server" by coming, but the same thing was once said about every new generation.
